9. When the Storms Come Back

One thing people don’t always talk about is this:

Even after you’ve found the center… the storms still come back.

Not because you did something wrong. Not because you lost your footing. Not because you drifted from God.

Storms come back because life keeps moving, and life isn’t gentle all the time.

Finding the center doesn’t remove the storms — it changes how you walk through them.

Storms Don’t Always Announce Themselves

Some storms arrive slowly. You feel the pressure building. You see the signs. You know something heavy is coming.

Other storms hit without warning. A phone call. A memory. A conversation that goes sideways. A situation you didn’t expect.

Suddenly the inside feels shaky again.

That doesn’t mean you’ve lost the center. It means you’re human.

Old Feelings Can Resurface

Storms have a way of stirring up old things — fears you thought were gone, wounds you thought were healed, patterns you thought you’d outgrown.

It can feel discouraging when those things show up again.

But here’s the truth: Old feelings resurfacing doesn’t mean you’re back where you started. It just means the storm touched a place God is still strengthening.

You’re not failing. You’re growing.

The Center Holds Even When You Feel Shaken

Living from the center doesn’t mean you never feel shaken. It means you’re not shaken alone.

You may feel the wind. You may feel the pressure. You may feel the old fears trying to rise.

But underneath all of that, something in you stays grounded.

You know where to go. You know how to breathe. You know how to turn inward instead of outward. You know how to let God steady you instead of trying to steady yourself.

The storm may be loud, but the center is still there.

You Don’t Have to Be Strong in the Storm

A lot of people think they need to be strong when storms return. They try to hold everything together. They try to act like they’re fine. They try to push through.

But storms aren’t places for performance. They’re places for honesty.

“Lord, this is hitting me harder than I expected.” “Lord, I feel shaky again.” “Lord, I need You.”

That’s strength — not pretending, but turning.

God Meets You in the Middle of the Storm

God doesn’t wait for the storm to pass before He helps you. He meets you right in the middle of it.

Not with loud answers. Not with instant fixes. But with presence.

A steadying thought. A quiet peace. A reminder that you’re not alone. A sense that He’s holding you even while everything around you feels unstable.

God doesn’t remove every storm — He anchors you through them.

Storms Become Teachers

As painful as storms can be, they teach you things you can’t learn any other way:

You learn how strong the center really is. You learn how faithful God is. You learn how to return to Him faster. You learn how to trust Him deeper. You learn how to let go of things you used to cling to.

Storms reveal what God has been building in you.

You Come Out Different

When the storm finally settles — and it always does — you come out different.

Not harder. Not colder. Not defeated.

You come out steadier. Clearer. More grounded. More aware of God’s presence. More confident in the center He’s been growing in you.

Storms don’t undo the center. They strengthen it.
